This page explains how to request the deletion of your ReadAlly account and associated data.
About ReadAlly
ReadAlly is a document interaction application that allows users to read, analyze, and interact with PDF and EPUB documents through AI-powered features.
How to Request Account Deletion
To delete your ReadAlly account and associated data, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your ReadAlly account via the mobile app or web application.
- Navigate to your Account page (accessible from the profile/settings menu).
- Click the "Delete Account" button at the bottom of the account page.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. To confirm deletion, you must type exactly:
DELETE MY ACCOUNT - Once confirmed, your account will be deactivated and marked for deletion.
Note: If you are unable to access your account, please contact us at contact@lexantic.com with your account email address to request manual deletion.
Data Deletion and Retention
When you request account deletion, we deactivate your account (you can no longer access the service). We then delete or anonymize personal data where feasible, subject to legal and operational requirements.
- Account profile data (email, first/last name, preferences such as language and time zone)
- User-generated content stored in your account (uploaded documents, reading progress, highlights, chats and messages)
- Support requests and feedback you submitted (if any)
- Subscription status information (plan and subscription end date)
Data Retention Period:
We aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days). Some data may be retained for a limited time in backups (typically up to 90 days) and/or for legal obligations (e.g., certain payment/accounting records where applicable).
What Happens After Deletion
Once your account is deleted:
- You will be immediately logged out and unable to access your account
- All your documents and data will be permanently removed
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use ReadAlly again
- Any active subscriptions will be cancelled
